Kakungulu Secondary School (Sanitation)

Project Location: Nabugoya Village, Mbale, Uganda

People Served: 532 students, 19 staff

Project Funding Needed: $23,000

The Problem

At Kakungulu Secondary School, girls don’t have where they bath from and they bath in an open space. The boys used the mosquito net which was placed on to the poles as a bathing area. Many of the students live (board at school). This outdoor bathing Is not safe, especially for girls, and can be shaming when menstruating.

The toilets they have are not drainable, ALL are full of cracks and almost full. They are unsafe and unclean.

The Solution

A girls latrine block, boys latrine block, girls bathing block, boys bathing block and staff latrine.
