World Water Day
Since 2010, Drink Local. Drink Tap., Inc. ™ has led educational, youth focused events on the United Nation’s International World Water Day (WWD) every March 22nd. We celebrate local student action that has positively impacted local water resources and how students have helped people -globally- gain access to safe water. In 2017, the focus of WWD was ‘waste water’ which means our presentations, posters and activities related to this topic.
For the 4th year, DLDT partnered with the Greater Cleveland Aquarium (GCA) to bring 300 Wavemaker Program students to the GCA for a day of water education, celebration and awards thanks to the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. Students are able to explore the GCA and visit interactive learning stations provided by fellow students and DLDT partners. This was DLDT’s 7th year celebrating World Water Day in Northeast Ohio!
Ways you can participate:
- Hosting an interactive learning station for students from 9am-12pm
- Sponsor World Water Day (get logo placement on screen and teacher invites)
- Volunteer (prior to and on WWD 8:30am-1:30pm)
- Have your school or class participate! Email jen@DrinkLocalDrinkTap.org
Prior year partners include, but are not limited to: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, City of Cleveland, Sustainable Cleveland 2019, Kinetico, the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District and more.
